Next up - Ross County

Stuart McCall accepted that we were not at our best on Wednesday but he was quick to point out that we scored a couple of fine goals and earned a clean sheet.  He was able to give Nielsen a pat on the back for his goalkeeping performance and welcome the return of Hammell to the back four.  Our left back delivered the ball to both scorers and the long diagonal pass that setup Ainsworth for the opener is one of the best long balls seen at Fir Park in years.

On the downside, much of the difficulty we experienced was due to an inability to retain possession.  Loose passing and careless clearances control to our opponents and Derek Adams, watching from the stand, will hope for more of the same on Saturday.   We seem to have survived the recent injury crisis and more players are now available.  Anier, speaking on BBC Alba, suggested that he hoped to be available for this game and with Ramsden and Kerr in training we should not be short of options.  There were no reported injuries following Wednesday's game and it would not be a surprise if the same eleven start on Saturday.

The visitors recorded their second away win of the season in Perth last week, De Leeuw scored the only goal of the game.  County are in the scrap to avoid the first SPFL Premiership playoff and their action in the last transfer window gives an indication of their determination to escape.  They imported half a team and there will be a few new faces for McCall to counter.  Songo'o, Tidster and Slew will need watching.   Cooper is suspended and there are injury doubts over Ketts, Maatsen and Klok.

Our home record is good and we haven't failed to beat a team in the lower half so far this season.  We already have 3-1 and 2-1 wins against them so there is no reason to predict anything but a 'Well win - 3-1 will do nicely.
