Next up - Celtic

This Sunday could either be the best or worst possible time to face Celtic.  They have looked impressive in the league under Neil Lennon and after their mid-week embarrassment may well be looking to ease their bad memories by bullying one of the smaller kids in the playground.  On the other hand, their anger may well distract them and good SPL form or not, the fact remains that under Neil Lennon they have exited three cup competitions in four months, failing to win a single tie en route.  That will bring about an intense spell of media scrutiny which is unlikely to be positive for manager or players.

Ross has a blast last time

Celtic have some players missing through injury but they obviously have a strong – for the SPL – squad available to them.  Some of their new signings do look like decent players and we will certainly have to be at our best to match them.

We have a fully fit squad to choose from and Steve Jennings will also be back from suspension.  Craig Brown will have to lift the troops mentally but he will also have to select a careful tactical line-up which gives us cover at the back while at the same time putting pressure under their hit and miss defence.

Last season Brown led us to a home draw against Rangers but produced mixed performances in the East End, a respectable 2-1 defeat being followed by a 4-0 thrashing.  Despite our best efforts we may come up just short again and lose this game 3-2 but should Craig dish out some more 'retaliation' on Neil Lennon, Motherwell fans would probably be content to call that even.
