Next up -- Inverness

The teams met in the opening game of the season and thanks to an early goal from Fletcher Motherwell are one up in the series.  Inverness have had a poor run of late with three losses and a solitary draw in their last four outings but after 13 rounds of league fixtures both teams are now level with 14 points.

A message to the team for the last visit of ICT in February

They have a long injury list and Hughes' selection problems were made worse by the sending off of Raven against Dundee last week.  For most of the season they have been unable to fill their quota of substitutes.  In midfield Ryan Christie carries a lot on his 20 year old shoulders.   In addition to the creative side of the game he also scores goals, three this season.  He'll be closely watched on Saturday.

While Inverness remain (for at least another week!) in a slump, Motherwell's fortunes seem on the rise.  The self belief that our new manager has instilled has grown during his three games in charge.  The rewards have grown since the defeat against Celtic with a draw at Pittodrie followed by a win at Rugby Park.

McGhee claims he is still in a learning phase and that he will continue to tinker with personnel and formations.  The back four seems to be settled with Law, Kennedy, McManus and Chalmers favoured but the other end of the team is less certain.  Some combination of Johnson, Ainsworth, McDonald, Moult and Fletcher will deliver our attack ahead of Pearson, Grimshaw and possibly Lasley in the centre.

If we go at Inverness with the same organisation and energy that seems to be the hallmark of the new regime then we can expect to enjoy the international break on the back of a 3-1 home win.
