Following a blistering start to the season consisting of two wins and four draw the Dens Park side have lost their last three Premiership matches. Has the newly promoted side burst its bubble?
Paul Hartley said that he expected his new team to hit a sticky patch while they develop but few would have predicted their impressive opening spell. Of particular interest to ‘Well fans will be the strange sight of David Clarkson in opposition colours. After more than 200 appearances in claret and amber and a few years with the Bristol teams he joined Dundee last month. He’ll be given a warm welcome for past service but we’ll hope he doesn’t add to the two goals already recorded for his new team. Harkins, also with two goals to his credit, will join Clarkson up front.
Kick off Motherwell v Dundee November 2012
Hopes of a Motherwell revival after a win in Dingwall and a draw at Parkhead a month ago disappeared with the league and cup losses to Hamilton and a 3-1 loss at Firhill. With trips to Aberdeen and Perth coming after Saturday’s game, the pressure is on for a win.
McCall, Nielsen, Francis-Angol and Ojamaa are now back from international duties and, with almost a full squad available, there will be no easy excuse if we fail to win. As Kenny Black said in his Evening Times quote, "Enough has been said, we need to do our talking on the park and produce two or three victories to get us up the league table. We are looking to get back on track as quickly as possible."
We need to start showing some of the belief and form that provided so much in the last few seasons. It must be worth a flutter to back the ‘Well at 6/4 and see the rot stopped with a 3-1 win.
Remember the last time Dundee were at Fir Park?
