Next up - Hibs

This will be the third visit from Hibs as the powers that be try to persuade us that Friday night is preferable to a Saturday afternoon kick-off.  The first was a poor 0-0 draw in January 1995 and the most recent was last December when the game was abandoned at half time because of a fire in a floodlight pylon.

Since Motherwell's win at Dens Park over a month ago we have taken only one point from the nine on offer.  If we are to re-establish our presence at the top end of the table a win on Friday is essential.

Hutchinson will be missing following his hamstring pull at Tynecastle but Cummins is now free of suspension and the manager will be faced with an interesting choice.  Should he play Kerr and Ramsden in the centre with Hateley at right back and Carswell in midfield or should he recall Cummins to partner Ramsden and start Kerr at right back?  Of course, he may well come up with another plan but so long as it produces three points we'll be happy!

Hibs suffered a loss in Dingwall last weekend when Ross County snatched a late winner in a five goal match.  Leigh Griffiths scored the opener in that game to tie Michael Higdon at the top of the SPL top scorers' table - ample warning that we'll have to watch him closely.

Our opponents have a two point advantage as the first cycle of games is almost complete but we have a game in hand.  The players will be keen to end the run of three straight defeats but to win the game we'll have to find the net.  Something that we have failed to do in the last four and a half hours on the pitch.  We can expect McCall to field a side set up for attack and if we can avoid the curse of the TV cameras we should be able to enjoy a 2-1 win.
