Update Saturday 1430
Mark McGhee, speaking on BBC Scotland, said that the heating system had been repaired following the damage in March and had been working.
The mystery deepens!
The groundstaff put in many hours in an attempt to make the surface playable but the referee, following two inspections declared that the pitch would be unsafe and called the game off.

In truth, the workers on the pitch were let down by the lack of investment in proper ground protection over the close season. Promises from John Boyle following a late call off before a game against Celtic in March have not been met. Emergency work to solve the drainage problem wrecked the undersoil heating system but instead of an expensive excavation over the close season we simply replaced the pitch and put our faith in a surface solution.
Mark McGhee, interviewed on Off The Ball at the end of May outlined the club's intentions and made the bold statement , "There will be no matches off next season".
The former chief executive, Ian Stillie, was in charge of the day to day running of the club when the critical decision was taken. He left the club a month ago. It will fall to the owner to give yet another explanation.
Meanwhile, fans are deprived of their afternoon's entertainment and the club will lose a fortune due to the postponement.
We can only hope that the authorities will be lenient!
