Dear 'Well Fan
This year marks the fifth anniversary of Motherwell FC going into administration, and with it the birth of the 'Well Worth Saving movement, later to be formalised as the Motherwell Supporters' Trust.
Right from the outset, everyone with an interest in the club galvanised and fundraising efforts began in earnest. One of the first such fundraisers was the 'Well Worth Saving 5-a-side Football Tournament, which, with an entry of over 40 teams in its first year, proved that all Motherwell fans like to both get behind their team and enjoy themselves at the same time.

This Tournament is now an annual fixture in the Trust fundraising calendar, but more importantly is eagerly awaited by enthusiastic 5's players from all over Lanarkshire. No matter skill levels or chances of winning, it's an opportunity for ordinary 'Well fans and their teams to meet up, enjoy the occasion and directly contribute to a cause that holds MFC's best interests at its heart.
Preparations for the 2007 event are warming up nicely and I can announce that it will take place on Saturday 2nd June, at the regular venue of Powerleague in
We are now inviting entries for the competition, which requires a squad of minimum five and maximum seven players. The entry fee is £40 per team, which will include changing and shower facilities, referees, finalist's trophies and sandwiches to go with the beers available in the Powerleague bar. If you don't have a full team, please register your interest in any case, and we can probably get you fixed up with likeminded players to make up a team on the day.
Entry fees can be paid by cash, cheque or debit card, and enquiries should be directed to David Tonner on 07985 535525, or by email; davietonner@hotmail.com.
For more information on the Motherwell Supporters' Trust, please visit the website at www.welltrust.net. All Motherwell fans are encouraged to join the Trust and entry forms will be available on the day of the tournament.
I look forward to seeing you on the day.
