Curtis Main, a 25 year old striker, is the first Motherwell signing of 2018. The forward was released from League One Portsmouth. Reports suggest we have been tracking him for some time.
Main joined Pompey in July 2016 and made 14 appearances, scoring 5 times in the League Two championship winning team but his game time was cut short by a series of injuries. He has played nine games this season, most recently on the first day of the new year when he made a 9 minute appearance from the bench as Portmouth lost to Bristol City.

The 5’10” Englishman made his first senior appearance for Darlington aged 15 and moved to Middlesbrough where he played 48 times for the Championship club. Spells at Doncaster and Oldham preceded his move to the south coast.
He joins on an 18 Month contract.
In his MFC TV interview he said he couldn’t wait to get started and hoped he would deliver lots of goals for the club. He described himself as very energetic with lots of power and very direct. “I’d like to come in and hit the ground running. I know recent results have not been what people hoped but I hope I can help the team get back to the form they were showing earlier in the season and try to climb as high as possible.”
