Motherwell mourns Jamie Dolan

Jamie was jogging when he suffered a massive heart attack. After the death of Phil O'Donnell at the end of last year, it is another tragedy to hit the Motherwell community.

As a midfielder, Dolan was tough but fair and though he was the working department of the wonderful partnership with Billy Davies and Paul Lambert, he could also play football as well.

He also contributed in the 1991 cup run although as one of the younger players in the squad he missed out on the big day in May.

Jamie played around 200 times for Motherwell and though he also featured for Dundee United, Dunfermline, Partick Thistle and Livingston, he is best remembered for his time at Fir Park.

One special memory was when he played in goals against Celtic following an injury and helped the team to a magnificent 2-1 victory.

He remained popular with the fans after his retirement, playing in the Motherwell side at the Masters 5-a-side competition and he was also active in the Former Players club.

Jamie will be sadly missed and condolences go to his family.
