The financial statement which has been released to shareholders ahead of the 102nd AGM to be held at the end of February shows that the club generated a pre-tax profit just short of £8000.
Given that the turnover was £3.7 million the size of the 'profit' is tiny. The main aim since the days of administration has been to ensure that income and expenditure balance and that was been achieved in a season which failed to produce much positive news on the park.
This was the year when Maurice Malpas was in charge of on-field activities. Gate receipts reduced from £1.6 million to £1.45 million, a reduction of around £150 000. However this was balanced by an increase in TV and radio income which matched the cash dip at the turnstiles.
