Sales will be restricted to season ticket holders who have to take their luck in a first come first served race. There is one catch though, the race starts at some uncertain time in the future. From the official site..
"No tickets have yet been received from Inverurie so no official 'On Sale' date can be given at this time. However, as soon as they do arrive, the club will immediately make them available and post notice on the Official website."
There will be a limit of one ticket per book and fans will be able to produce two books at a maximum. The supporters association will also get a small allocation in keeping with the Supporters Charter. This should ensure that a number of the regulars (who need not be season ticket holders) who support buses to away games have a chance of a ticket.
In truth, the club is in a no win situation. Other options (an open sale, an open ballot, a restricted ballot etc) would by subject to criticism from one section or another.
The only solution to keep Motherwell fans happy would have been for Inverurie to move the game to a bigger ground. They are perfectly entitled to have the game played on their own turf and we just have to make the best of it.
With any luck we'll get a home draw in round 5 and all we'll have to complain about will be the price of tickets!
