It sounds, from the Motherwell twitter account, that we were somewhat lucky to share the honours with Heerenveen. Dan Twardzik made a string of impressive saves and though we came into things later on, we could not pinch an unlikely win.
Nonetheless, a draw with a team who are regulars in the top half of the Dutch league is not to be sniffed at. And after a draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach's U23s, we return home both winless and undefeated.
A clutch of new arrivals have already started filling the gaps made by the departed and there were trialists with us on the tour. However, now we are back in Scotland it is likely that other positions - Twardzik's, probably - will be filled too.
The players have a break from games until Tuesday, when we meet Bradford, and then there is a trip to Livingston a week on Saturday. Club media have been posting pictures suggesting they have been working hard, having clearly learned the mistake of providing proof of last season's foot-golf.
It is just over three weeks until the season begins away to Inverness. There is still a lot to be done but - cautiously, very cautiously - we may think we are slowly moving along in the right direction.
