'Well fans would have choked on their cornflakes this morning when reports suggested that James McFadden would be playing his last game for Motherwell tomorrow. It was looking like European Cup finalists Bayer Leverkusen would swoop with a £1.8m bid.
However, it looks like those rumours turned out to be without substance. Terry Butcher admitted that their have been lots of enquires about our young players, McFadden included, but said there had been no written offers and there was no need to be looking to sell; "We don't want to sell anybody. We are not in a position where we have to sell anybody."
'Well fans will be heartened by the news and Faddy will probably thrive on the attention. It looks like our star will stay with us - for now, at least.
