The Scotland call up was a ”bonus” and his aim is to become a regular in that team too. “As far as I can see it, my future’s at Motherwell…. Well, my immediate future. Maybe in a couple of years time will be time for me to move but I feel I should stay here to develop.”
Talking on the season ahead he feels that the past year has brought the players closer together. “there’s a great spirit in the team and we’re going to be fighting for each other a wee bit more next season to make sure we do well.” “I hope Motherwell can get into the top six, that’s the aim”,
He expects that the fans will play an important role too. “It was brilliant to see the fans’ reaction at the end of the last match against Dundee. They were singing for us all the way through, and it was the same in the Chievo game and the Kilmarnock game so it just shows us what the fans can do.”
“And, if they come out in numbers next season, it can only help everybody – they’ll be entertained, it’ll give us an incentive to try a wee bit harder and, sometimes when you’re down and the fans are singing, it gives you a lift.”
“My message to the fans is to buy the season books, get the new strip and get behind the team. We’re all in this together”.
