Kilmarnock: 24h on

The renewed Motherwell side are improving with every game.  Johnson continues to impress and his control and pace, even on the heavy pitch, unnerved Westlake to the extent that he collected two yellows before the break.  McDonald's clinical execution of the free kick that followed the red card should have turned the game in our favour.

The combination of Erwin and McDonald gives us far more movement in attacking positions and, in the first half at least, we kept Samson fully occupied.  We let Kilmarnock off the hook in the second period although they defended well.

Few expect us to take anything against Aberdeen when we play the first of two Friday night games later this week.  Yet again BT Sports has shown contempt for travelling fans as they move our trip up the A90 for the second time this season.  Maybe the clubs will start to put the interests of their supporters on a higher footing when the negotiate the next round of TV deals?  We can but hope.

Our rivals in the scrap to avoid the drop are both away from home next Saturday, St Mirren play Kilmarnock while Ross County visit Hamilton.  While our fate hinges on our own performances as the season draws to a close, the results of those games will be of keen interest to all at Fir Park.
