There were plenty of reasons for the team bus to be full of smiles on the way home. Not only did Brian McLean survive his reintroduction to first team unscathed, he also made a decent contribution to the game. There was no sign of hesitancy about him entering the fray and he delivered the ball which set up the winning goal for Cillian Sheridan.
Surely that pitch is not rutted, sandy or....dangerous?
We played an attacking formation and for the first time Sutton and Sheridan lead the line. Clarkson was given a difficult job in right midfield and though he stuck manfully to his allotted task he is clearly more comfortable ten yards up the pitch.
After our second goal we played with two wingers when Darren Smith balanced O'Brien's probing runs on the other side. The ICT defence was stretched and our striking pair enjoyed the room which opened up as a result.
Terry Butcher was fulsome in his praise for his old team and there were many warm handshakes as he met up with those we knew him well during his spell at
Other results were kind to us and although Hearts won there is a perfect opportunity to dent their third place ambitions on Wednesday. We have note won at Tynecastle since a Zaliukas own goal delivered a 1-2 in December 2007. Now would be a perfect time to take three points from the Tarts.
