McGhee is perfectly honest when things go wrong but it is good for the team to hear praise when it is deserved. Like so many other things, the contrast with Maurice Malpas is stark. Our old manager never seemed to tire of reminding the fans what a small a club we are and that we could not reasonably expect more than SPL survival.

McGhee couldn't be more different as he boosts confidence at every opportunity and this must have a positive effect on the players. The fans know we are unlikely to challenge at the top end of the league for long but it is important the manager gives the impression of wanting to improve. McGhee has a can do attitude and with likely additions to the squad arriving in January we really seem to have a great chance of doing something special this season.
