In a BBC Sportsound interview with Richard Wilson, Les Hutchision discussed the forthcoming change of ownership.
He believed that most of the set objectives had been reached mostly due to the efforts of Mark McGhee and Alan Burrows and that has enable the timescale for the transfer of ownership to be brought forward.
When asked about the security of the club without the deep pockets of a benefactor Les admitted that he could not speak to the future but if the club gets enough customers through the gates and sticks to the plan then all should be well.
Can the club be self sufficient? The club is very close to break even. The player budget has been dramatically reduced, younger players are being introduced and medical costs have been reduced thanks to the introduction of sports science. More needs to be done to inject more commercial income.
Les felt that the reason for an apparent plateau in Society membership was his presence. "It'll be ok, Les is here". He always made it clear that he had no intention of owning a football club. The fans should listen to the good people who run the Society.
Why make the change now? The club is relatively stable and costs have been reduced. The challenge is to manage cash flow to balance the irregular income throughout the year.
Fans will now have an influence not just in the club but also in the running of Scottish football.
He ended the interview with a plea for more fans to sign up to the Society and for more local businesses to get involved.
