Our management team have their work cut out to lift the players after the poor display against Aberdeen on Tuesday. The club looks to the rest of the season with only league points as the prize having been ejected from four cup competitions before Christmas. McCall said, "We have come back strongly in the SPL from a dip and have now gone six [league] games without defeat to climb back up to third. It's vital we keep that run going at Hibs."
Law & Lasley kick off last time at Easter Road
We can take heart that the game is at Easter Road but so can Hibs. While the table shows Motherwell with five away wins it also reveals that Hibs are the only top six team with a better points haul on home soil than on the road.
Nicky Law picked up an ankle knock against Ross County last week and failed to make the squad for the cup replay. His presence was sorely missed and our chance of a happy homeward journey will be greatly increased if he is returned to the midfield. Otherwise we'll field the same regulars and hope that their determination to claim a place in Europe can overcome the lingering disappointment.
Hibs will be desperate to plug the leaking defence that allowed Inverness to score three last week. However, memories of the 4-0 drubbing they handed us at Fir Park in October will assure them that they have the potential to earn a victory. Griffiths scored two spot kicks at our last meeting and he currently tops the goal scoring chart. Curtailing his activities has to be a priority for the visitors.
Only goal difference separates the sides and it may be that a draw is the likely outcome. A point apiece will do neither team any harm - 1-1.
