When Motherwell beat them at Tynecastle last month we were two points ahead of them. Since then they have won six and lost two. Their last four games have produced maximum points with wins over Hibs, Celtic, St Johnstone and Hamilton. They are now three points ahead of us.

Jeffries, who celebrated his 60th birthday this week, has been able to restore some consistency to team selection and instil some belief into the club. The return of Skacel, who made only a brief appearance against us last tie, has given a lift to the fans and a cutting edge in attack. He has hit the net three times in recent matches.
Anyone who saw Templeton’s terrific goal against Hibs will be aware of his growing talent. He has scored in three of Hearts last four outings and opposition midfielders will have to be alert to his threat. Zaliukas, the captain, has signed a new deal and together with Kello between the sticks they have been solid at the back. They haven’t conceded a goal in their last four games.
It all seems to be going sweetly for the Gorgie mob at present and that must mean that it’s time for Romanov to rock the boat! Maybe we can encourage his involvement by stopping the maroon momentum on Sunday.
