Faddy’s short contribution last season clearly demonstrated his worth and most who cheered him from the home stands expected that his exposure would attract attention from others with deeper pockets. Somehow the club board has managed to find a funding method that allows McCall to keep him in the squad and they are to be congratulated.
McFadden has completed the full training schedule to date including the Spanish trip and he played the second half against Newcastle (chipping in with a dinky penalty!).
The transfer window will remain open until the end of August but with McFadden joining McManus, Vigurs, Lawson, Neilsen, Sutton and Kerr it looks like our signing spree is coming to a close. The jigsaw puzzle is almost complete and maybe only one vacancy remains; we need another striker. 23-year-old Estonian striker Henri Anier from Viking Stavanger is now on trial, could he be the final piece?
The team will be in competitive action in just over a fortnight. We’ll have a clearer idea of our European opponents after Friday’s draw in Switzerland. Exciting times ahead!
