Gie's Peace, Eck

Having watched his team of millionaires almost throw away a three goal lead and spend the last ten minutes frantically defending as Motherwell piled on the pressure he then filled the following week whining that his team were involved in a hard match.

He demanded an SFA investigation into the behaviour of Paul Quinn. He did not question the integrity of the officials’ decisions but he did say the “Somebody told me that Peter had been kicked off the ball. If it is only Rangers and Celtic players that are getting studied then there is something wrong.".

Needless to say, the SFA threw out his demand after watching a video review of the incident

Undaunted, he turned his attention to Richie Foran. Our number nine challenged Ferguson on the touchline from behind and as a result was cautioned. The Rangers’ player received a second booking for his reaction and was given the opportunity of getting into the bath first. Big Eck said, “Barry was given a second yellow for raising his hands yet Foran was guilty of the initial tackle, that he was booked for, and then raising his hands but did not get a second yellow.”

What will McLeish dredge up tomorrow? Possibly the dismissal of Bojan Djordjic? He was sent off for a foul on Fagan during the reserve game against Motherwell on Monday afternoon. No doubt the footage from the Rangers TV camera will be studied and sent to the SFA.

Moaner McLeish has had a special place in the hearts of ‘Well fans since he made the inexplicable decision to leave Fir Park to manage Hibs (just days before we had to face Rangers in a cup tie). His managerial talents were ably demonstrated when he transformed Tommy McLean’s cup winning side from one which had challenged at the top of the league to one which became stuck in a series of relegation struggles.

When will it end? Naturally every utterance of the Ginger One receives huge publicity. The Scottish media demean themselves by carrying his rants.

Gie’s peace!
