There are only four games remaining until the first cycle of games is complete. When the fixtures against Celtic, St Mirren, Hearts and Hamilton are played we will be able to make a better judgement on the early season progress but there cannot be any Motherwell fan who isn't delighted at our haul of a dozen points from the first seven games.
We played a fair amount of composed, passing football in the first half before losing our way in the second. At last we were able to celebrate a goal from Jutkiewicz and we saw enough of a spark from Humphrey to see why Gannon brought him to the club. Let's hope that the pair of them take heart from their performances and that they deliver more in games to come.
The mascots have a kick
Falkirk looked like a sorry lot. While the missed header from Stewart in the second half robbed them of a point there was very little evidence to suggest that their bottom place is undeserved. Eddie May will do well to keep them in the league at the end of the season.
The international weekend ahead will give time for a few knocks and bruises to heal. We have played fourteen competitive games already this season and a few lazy days will help to recharge some tiring batteries.
