After talks with Stuart McCall it was agreed that our talisman would not join up for another season. The manager, quoted on the official ste said, “I cannot speak highly enough of his attitude, desire and professionalism whilst he was here, particularly when going through a difficult patch or when he was injured."
So ends a long relationship with the club he joined almost 15 years ago. In his second spell he started 23 times and scored a handful of goals. His last appearance came as we clinched second place in the Premiership at Pittodrie.
A happy McFadden at Pittodrie last week
In the end his salary was a luxury that should be better used elsewhere. McCall has a difficult juggling act to perform every close season and the flexibilty that will come from Faddy's departure will be used to strengthen the team for the new campaign.
There is no firm news about McFadden's intentions but he showed enough to indicate that his playing days are not yet over.
All the best James, you'll always be welcomed back to Fir Park.
