Reports suggest that there has been a steady stream through the Chapman building doors as supporters demonstrate their commitment to the club. Most sales will be renewals but there will also be some new issues as the attractiveness of the offer tempts more to sign up.
The club's wish to be embedded in the community has resulted in an exceptional scheme that enables any adult or senior to have an U16 ticket thrown in when they buy their book and that becomes two U16 tickets if the purchase is for the Cooper Stand. It's an outstanding offer that deserves more exposure in the press than it has to date.
Some fans argue that they will hold off buying their season ticket until the debacle at Rangers is resolved. They claim that there is an element of the unknown that they are unwilling to entertain. Most supporters seem to reject that view and are content to secure their seat knowing that they will see a team in claret and amber (occasionally in blue!).
Local business have been encouraged to offer a range of discounts on production of the season ticket book and while those inducements might persuade a few to join up the vast majority will be satisfied knowing that the club's finances will benefit by having a source of income in the long close season.
