Dundee Preview

However, we managed to win at Dens Park last season and we should not be completely without confidence ourselves. We played reasonably well at Fir Park and should not have lost the game. Kevin McBride looks like a good addition and he adds some much needed balance to the midfield.
David Clarkson looked much more like his old self when he came on from the bench and it is likely that he will return to the starting line up.
We do not appear to have any new injury worries with Paul Quinn still being a medium term absentee. David Cowan and David Partridge both played against Celtic in Tuesday’s reserve game and they will be in contention to strengthen the defence.
Dundee look threatening up front – both John Sutton and Stuart Lovell could cause us problems – but TV highlights showed that teams can create chances against them. Barry Robson looked impressive running at their defence and we will look to get the ball into the feet of Clarkson and McDonald who should make opportunities for us.
We can also take heart from Dundee’s mini goalkeeping crisis and even assuming that their first choice makes it, he might not be fully fit.
This is a game that we could really do with winning – and we will, 2-1.
Do you remember the last visit to Dens?
