Cardiff asked to pay for Coach

Last updated : 22 July 2010 By Firparkcorner

The statement below, quoting Leeann Dempster, was released on the official site.

The Board have been very patient with Cardiff given the financial pressures they have faced and the need for clubs to work together to ensure we can all navigate an extremely testing financial environment for the game.

However the interests of our shareholders, employees and fans are being jeopardised by the failure of Cardiff City to pay the debt that they have outstanding.

We have made clear to the Board of Cardiff that we are left with no option but to pursue every possible avenue of recourse to secure our own club's interests. We hope that this matter can be resolved in an orderly manner.”

Paul was well known to referees...

Quinn, known as 'Coach' when at Motherwell,  left us last July for a fee reported to be £300,000.  He was one of a number of signings that Cardiff made over the close season.  Paul was 23 at the time of the move and he agreed a three year deal.

His time at Fir Park was eventful.  He made his debut in 2002 when Terry Butcher fielded him at Parkhead and eventually he became our regular right back.  He succeeded Phil O’Donnell as captain of the club but his life off the park damaged his reputation.

He has become a fixture in the Cardiff team and made 27 appearances in his first season.
