Saturday's game at Fir Park has been postponed. It seems that two of the stands have burst pipes due to the freezing
Unbelievable!

In how many ways can the club be embarrassed as it fails to cope with cold weather? For years we suffered because of a frozen or flooded pitch.Huge works over the summer have delivered new drainage and a working undersoil heating system and the surface is fine for the scheduled derby game.
Unfortunately the off field precautions against sub-zero temperatures have not been adequate. Persumably a lack of heating or poor lagging has resulted in bursts in TWO (East and South) stands and the game has been called off.Given that the decision was made with more than twenty four hours remaining until kick off there must be serious damage which cannot be remedied in the short term.
The official site also suggests that the car parks and other areas surrounding the stadium may not be safe. After consultations with the police and the SPL the decision to postpone was taken.
No date has been set for the rearrangement and Hamilton already have a list of postponements which make a January date unlikely.
