Brown lets rip

As the teams left the pitch the officials faced not only the jeers of the crowd but they found the Motherwell manager keen to let his feelings be known.   The referee took a stance in order to protect the offending linesman who cringed as Brown let off steam.

Brown has a go

When he viewed the replay minutes after the final whistle he had calmed down and gave his thoughts on the goal that never was.  “It’s difficult for officials but when all he has to see is along the line then we should have got a better decision.  I hate to complain about officials and I’m on the side of referees but (had we got the goal) we might have gone on to score more.  I really feel aggrieved at the decision but you win some you lose some.  I’ve never experienced the position in a club match where the big team gets the decisions but it was a bit obvious there that we were hard done by.”

...and again

Jim O’Brien was far more relaxed when he received the Man of the Match award.  Though disappointed he accepted that such decisions are part of the game. Nevertheless he found it hard to believe that the game had not been won.

Offside?.....never!

Motherwell have a trip across the Clyde on Saturday as the second Lanarkshire derby on consecutive weekends is scheduled.  Accies will be thrilled with their win at Tannadice but the Steelmen are on a good run of form and an exciting game is likely.
