Another Arrival - Tony Vaughan
Last updated : 31 January 2003 By Firparkcorner
Tony has already met his new teammates having spent a week on trial at Fir Park. He obviously impressed Terry Butcher enough to earn a longer stay but and negotiations over his wages began.
The main sticking point would presumably have been how much the weekly wage he was promised by Forest was picked up by us.
Despite our improved financial situation, we still cannot pay big bucks.
Whether an agreement was reached due to Forest paying a portion of his wages or Vaughan taking a cut is unknown.

Vaughan has been transferred for over £1m before but has fallen out of favour at Forest.
He was not getting a game for the reserves and was not even given a squad number at the start of this season.
Whether or not Vaughan will come straight into the side against Dundee United remain to be seen. It would be very harsh of Terry to drop any of our current back four although David Partridge will probably be the most worried. There is also the possibility of Corrigan moving into the midfield and Vaughan taking his place at the back. Decisions decisions…
Whether or not Vaughan plays at Tannadice, if he can get his full form and fitness back, he will be an undoubted asset. Let’s hope he fits in well and makes a winning start – and quickly!
