Another typical 'Well season?
Get Behind the Team
It looks like this is going to be another typical Well season,We have had the high of beating the Tattie Howkers but have far too many lows for my liking (Livi, Aberdeen etc). We seem to play some good footbal in the first half of games but don't manage to finish teams off. This will have to be sorted sooner rather than later as I reckon we may struggle to beat the drop this season. We have a young squad who are managing to gel together slowly but surely.
It is a great achievement that Hammell, Pearson and McFadden have managed to make it into the Scotland squads.McFadden's performances have been pretty good although he still has a lot to learn and I reckon he would benefit from another couple of seasons at 'Well. The performance of the rest of the team has been pretty average although Martyn Corrigan has been exceptional in my opinion.
Yet again I feel I must mention the backing of the home support (or lack of it to be more precise).I wrongly thought that when the club was put in to administration that the fans would turn out in large numbers and give the team their full backing. The attendances have been pretty poor and the abuse hurled at certian players has been apalling. Not a week goes by without some w****r giving dogs abuse to almost anyone. Stevie Woods gets pelters every week and whilst I admit that he has had a few shockers recently, surely the constant criticism (some of which is a disgrace) will not be doing the guys confidence any good. We can't afford to bring in new players so we will just have to get on with the players we already have and give them our full support.
Another wee moan is the queuing for the season ticket holders in the East Stand. At every home game this season the two gates for season tickets have had massive queues whilst the other gates remain fairly empty. Surely the season ticket holders deserve better than this (although going on past performance, this is just par for the course).
